报告人简介：郗平，西安交通大学教授、博士生导师。主要从事数论方面的研究，涉及代数迹函数的解析理论、素数分布、筛法及自守形式等。相关成果发表于Inventiones mathematicae、Compositio Mathematica、Algebra & Number Theory、IMRN等国际期刊。2020年获得国家杰出青年科学基金资助。

报告摘要：It is fundamental to understand the distribution of primes in arithmetic progressions. With the aid of Brun’s sieve, Titchmarsh gave the first upper bound, which is of correct order of magnitude, on the number of such primes in an individual arithmetic progression. This gives the so-called Brun--Titchmarsh theorem. We will discuss our recent work on sharpening this theorem with better constants for general/special moduli, improving classical bounds of Iwaniec. This is a joint work with Junren Zheng.
