摘要:Predictability and sensitivity of atmospheric or oceanic motion are critical problems in both theoretical research and numerical weather and climate prediction. It is possible to obtain large and detailed satellite data of oceanographic and atmospheric data. However, the data may contain noise and error which must be analyzed to adjust parameters of oceanic models which can lead to more accurate predictions. One source of uncertainty that can be analyzed is the study and evolution of initial perturbations. Another problem that may be considered in addition to the initial perturbation or error in the data is error or uncertainty from external time varying input. In this presentation, the effect of initial perturbation and external forcing term is considered for three dimensional quasigeostrophic equation using optimal control theory.
