摘要:The well-known Hamilton-Waterloo problem is the problem of determining whether Kv (for v odd) or Kv minus a 1-factor (for v even) has a 2-factorization in which there are exactly α Cm-factors and β Cn-factors. Many papers have been published on this problem since 1998. Recently Burgess et al. have made significant progress on the HamiltonWaterloo problem for uniform odd cycle factors. In this talk, we will report some recent research results. We apply almost resolvable cycle systems as well as other combinatorial structures to give some solutions to the Hamilton-Waterloo problem for odd cycle factors which are left over in Burgess’s paper. We also get some results on the Hamilton-Waterloo problem with even orders and completely solve the Hamilton-Waterloo problem in the case of C3-factors and Cn-factors for n = 4; 5; 7.
